    Department of Dance production manager David Tatu was named this year’s Distinguished Staff Award winner Thursday at the Kennesaw State University Foundation’s annual Faculty and Staff Award ceremony. Tatu, along with five other staff members and one department, were formally recognized by President Pamela Whitten and acting KSU Foundation Chair Trenton Turk for their commitment to excellence.  –  November 30, 2018

  • Finalists named in search for Kennesaw State vice president for research

    Three finalists have been named in the search for Kennesaw State’s next vice president for research. Each candidate will visit the University to meet with various constituencies. As part of the on-campus interview, each candidate will hold a public presentation, which is open to all KSU faculty, staff, and students.  –  November 29, 2018

  • Top turf: Kennesaw State stadium earns national award

    For the fourth consecutive year, Kennesaw State University’s Fifth Third Bank Stadium has been recognized as one of the top playing fields in the country by the Sports Turf Managers Association. The STMA named Fifth Third Bank Stadium its 2018 “Field of the Year” in the College Sporting Grounds category. The multi-purpose stadium is the centerpiece of KSU’s Sports + Entertainment Park and hosts about 50 events a year.  –  November 29, 2018

  • History professor earns best book award from Georgia Historical Society

    William Thomas Okie, associate professor of history and author of “The Georgia Peach: Culture, Agriculture, and Environment in the American South,” was honored Tuesday with the Bell Award from the Georgia Historical Society, becoming one of two individuals recognized in 2018 for books published in 2016 and 2017.  –  November 28, 2018

  • Eyes on the Road

    A team of Kennesaw State University alumni are aiming to make roadways safer after inventing a blind spot detection system that can be retrofitted to older vehicles. The inventors – former electrical engineering graduate students Andrew Kazemian, Federick Amuna, Ilyas Kure, Deshawn Edwards and Eli Franklin – became just the second student team in school history to obtain a patent with the help of the Kennesaw State University Research and Service Foundation (KSURSF). The device designed by the team can easily be installed without tools by mounting two wireless sensors on rear windows and placing a small indicator display on the dash.  –  November 28, 2018

  • KSU Dance Company presents "Pariah"

    Kennesaw State University’s Department of Dance will present “Pariah” Nov. 30-Dec. 1 at 8 p.m. at the Dance Theater on the Marietta Campus. “Pariah” showcases innovative contemporary choreography by KSU Dance professors McCree O’Kelley, Andrea Knowlton, and Lisa Lock, as well as artist-in-residence Sean Nguyen-Hilton. The production includes an original score by James Waterman, music underscoring by Paul Stevens, and dancers from the KSU Dance Company.  –  November 27, 2018

  • Research on bats funded by National Fish and Wildlife Foundation

    Kennesaw State microbiologist Chris Cornelison is among a collaborative team of researchers awarded a $365,000 grant from the National Fish and Wildlife Foundation to combat white-nose syndrome, a fungal disease causing the rapid decline of tricolored bats in Texas.  –  November 26, 2018
