  • Italy's lauded Spellbound ballet troupe makes Atlanta debut at KSU Dance Theater (ArtsATL)

    Inspiration can come from the strangest sources, and for Mauro Astolfi, it came from a dance rehearsal in an Italian park under a full moon. Astolfi founded Spellbound Contemporary Ballet in Italy in 1994 and has forged a highly acclaimed company that puts a premium on classical movement set to modern esthetics. Spellbound makes its Atlanta debut at Kennesaw State University’s Dance Theater on October 12 and 13 with a performance of their original piece Full Moon.  –  October 09, 2018

  • Hands-Free Mapping

    Much like Google Maps collects information from motorists to plot out roadways, Kennesaw State University students are using data from smartphones to more efficiently map indoor spaces. The research, conducted by Kennesaw State students Nick Murphy, Devan Patel, Drew Savas and Derek Martin, sought applications for a self-updating virtual map that could guide users through a space that experiences frequent changes to its layout, such as a museum or grocery store.  –  October 09, 2018

  • Former deputy chief of staff to Georgia Governor named vice president for government relations

    Kennesaw State University has appointed Julia Ayers as vice president for government relations, effective Oct. 22. Ayers is currently senior executive director of economic development for the Technical College System of Georgia (TCSG), where she works closely with the vice presidents of economic development at 22 colleges to develop and implement curriculum and industry outreach initiatives. Prior to TCSG, she spent eight years working with Gov. Nathan Deal, most recently as deputy chief of staff for legislative and external affairs.  –  October 08, 2018

  • Distinguished Alumni Honors

    Three prominent Kennesaw State University alumni were recognized during KSU’s 27th Annual Distinguished Alumni Awards dinner, hosted by the Office of Alumni Relations and Annual Giving the evening of Friday, Oct. 5 at the Renaissance Atlanta Waverly Hotel and Convention Center. The event, sponsored by Nationwide, was held in conjunction with Kennesaw State’s 2018 Homecoming week. Three deserving alumni – Matt Finn ’07, Daryle Higginbotham ’89 and Brian Pendley ’94 – were recipients of a 2018 Distinguished Alumni Award.  –  October 08, 2018
