  • 2019 Kennesaw State Birla Carbon Scholars Selected

    Kennesaw State University’s College of Science and Mathematics has selected 11 Birla Carbon Scholars to each receive a $4,000 stipend to pursue their individual research interests during a unique 10-week summer program established by Birla Carbon, the world’s largest manufacturer and supplier of carbon black. In marking the sixth year of the scholars program, Birla Carbon increased the number of scholars to 11 from 10 and increased its pledge to $275,000 to support the undergraduate research program in the College of Science and Mathematics (CSM) for a five-year annual gift of $55,000.  –  July 01, 2019

  • An Owl in the Ivy League

    Bradley Heath acknowledges that attending school in the United States was an adjustment after his family moved to metro Atlanta from the United Kingdom as he was starting high school. He has adapted quite well. Now a rising senior at Kennesaw State University, Heath is in the Coles Scholars Program for the top students in the Michael J. Coles College of Business and is set to earn his finance degree next spring. He also recently participated in a weeklong residential education program hosted by one of the nation’s best business schools. Heath was selected for the Harvard Business School’s Summer Venture in Management, which simulates being a student in Harvard’s renowned Master of Business Administration program.  –  July 01, 2019

  • Honors student studying through Fulbright program

    Kennesaw State University sophomore Kendall Chamberlain is studying in Northern Ireland for four weeks after being chosen for the prestigious Fulbright Summer Institute program. Chamberlain, a President’s Emerging Global Scholars (PEGS) student in KSU’s Honors College, is part of the Summer Institute’s Irish Studies track, focusing on Northern Ireland’s literature and culture.  –  June 26, 2019

  • Shaping the Shipping Industry

    When information systems student Ryan Bishop spoke last week, the world was listening. Bishop joined Kennesaw State University associate professor Dominic Thomas among the participants of a three-day International Organization for Standardization (ISO) meeting to establish systems and software maintenance guidelines in the maritime shipping industry. Representatives from six countries – including officials from the largest shipping company in the world, Maersk – met for three days in KSU’s Prillaman Hall to discuss creating technology standards for devices on shipping vessels.  –  June 26, 2019

    Each semester, Kennesaw State University students participate in faculty-led education abroad programs to enhance their studies and gather perspective from nearly 40 countries worldwide. This summer is no different, as KSU’s Division of Global Affairs offers more than 50 programs covering a myriad of disciplines. Students in the Joel A.
