Campus Resources for Academic Success

KENNESAW, Ga. (Jan 14, 2019) — As students return to campus and start off the Spring 2019 semester, Kennesaw State University has academic resources available on campus. The list below includes some of the resources available to students on the Marietta and the Kennesaw campuses as well as online students.

Writing Center

The Writing Center offers assistance with all levels of writing from proposals to reports and essays to help students become more confident writers.

Location: English Building, room 242 on the Kennesaw Campus; in the Johnson Library, room 121 on Marietta Campus and online.

Foreign Languages Lab

Foreign Language Tutoring is available in all 12 languages offered at Kennesaw State. Tutors are Kennesaw State students themselves, often native or heritage speakers of the language they tutor, and they undergo training in effective teaching strategies. Students can consult with tutors in person, by email, or via video chat.

University College Academic Support Initiatives

University College offers three ways to help students:

SI leaders offer weekly study sessions in a variety of topics ranging from anatomy to mathematics.

The Science and Math Academic Resources and Tutoring (SMART) Center provides resources with most general education mathematics, chemistry, and physics courses along with select engineering classes offered at KSU. While the assistance is not one-on-one tutoring, the Center provides helpful learning materials, tables to work and tutors who are available to answer questions.

Location: Sturgis Library, room 433 in Kennesaw and in Norton Hall, room 174 in Marietta.

At the ESL Center, KSU students can receive tutoring in writing, grammar, reading, pronunciation, conversation, and public speaking, as well as advising for their general education (core) requirements and mentoring. Appointments are usually, but not always, necessary.

Location: Sturgis Library Room 442 in Kennesaw and in Norton Hall, Building. R2, Room 164 in Marietta.

Academic Tutoring Services through Adult and Commuter Student Affairs

The Office of Adult and Commuter Student Affairs offer individualized in-person and online tutoring options for current students and prospective KSU students.

College Level Services

College of Computing and Software Engineering Tutoring Lab Centers

The College of Computing and Software Engineering provides tutoring for several of computing and engineering classes; check the website for the most up-to-date list of class tutoring options available. 

Location: Atrium Building room J265 in Marietta or in Chastain Pointe, Suite 206I in Kennesaw.

Coles College of Business Tutoring Center

The Coles College of Business houses a tutoring center to help students with several business courses. Check the website for the most up-to-date list of classes available for tutoring assistance.
