Star-Spangled Spectacular

KENNESAW, Ga. | Jun 25, 2018

Free event will be held on June 30 at Fifth Third Bank Stadium

On Saturday, June 30, Kennesaw State University will present the annual Star-Spangled Spectacular concert and fireworks show at a new, on-campus venue: Fifth Third Bank Stadium at the KSU Sports + Entertainment Park in Kennesaw. A longtime summer tradition at Kennesaw State, Star-Spangled Spectacular is a free, family-friendly event held each year on the Saturday preceding the Independence Day holiday.

Fifth Third Bank Stadium gates will open at 5 p.m. for guests to enjoy Family Fun Festival activities including games, inflatables, face painting and balloon artists for kids as well as food vendors and exhibitors from the KSU community and beyond. The concert, beginning at 8 p.m., will feature the KSU Big Band and KSU Summer Orchestra performing American music ranging from classic patriotic favorites to exciting contemporary and popular selections.

The KSU Big Band and KSU Summer Orchestra consist primarily of students, alumni and faculty members from the Kennesaw State University School of Music as well as members of the Georgia Symphony Orchestra. Following the concert, a spectacular fireworks display will begin at approximately 9:30 p.m.

From 2008 to 2017, Kennesaw State University’s annual Star-Spangled Spectacular event was held at the Kennesaw Campus Green. Relocating the Star-Spangled Spectacular to Fifth Third Bank Stadium will continue to improve the guest experience as well as accommodate larger audiences.

A variety of concessions will be available for purchase inside the stadium, including family food packages, grilled items such as hamburgers and hotdogs, chicken sandwiches, tater tots, popcorn, snacks and other assorted specialty items. A selection of beer, wine and soft drinks will also be available for purchase inside the stadium.

In order to accommodate this event at Fifth Third Bank Stadium, several updated event policies have been established to ensure a quality experience for all guests. First, no outside food and beverages will be permitted inside the stadium. Coolers, oversized bags (larger than 12”x12”x12” in size), high-back chairs that obstruct the view of other guests, and large golf or oversized umbrellas are not permitted in the stadium. In case of inclement weather, the event will be postponed until the following day, Sunday, July 1. For more information, please visit StarSpangledKSU.com.
