Celebrate with a bang: 2016 Star-Spangled Spectacular Saturday at Kennesaw State University

KENNESAW, Ga. (Jun 23, 2016) — Excerpt of Article: The 2016 Star-Spangled Spectacular and Family Fun Festival is Saturday, June 25 on the Campus Green in the heart of Kennesaw State University’s Campus in Kennesaw. Pre-concert activities begin at 4 p.m. with the concert at 7:30 p.m. GO!

This annual event is free of charge and features a patriotic concert with performances by the KSU Big Band and KSU Summer Orchestra, followed by a spectacular fireworks finale. In addition to the concert at 7:30 p.m., the Family Fun Festival begins at 4 p.m. with pre-concert activities including games, face painting, balloon artists, food vendors, exhibitors from the KSU community and beyond, and more.

“The program will open with the KSU Big Band performing classic jazz standards from the big band era, followed by songs from movies, musicals and marches performed by the KSU Summer Orchestra,” said Marietta resident David Daly, Director of Programming and Facilities and part-time instructor of Music, KSU School of Music.

“Attending this event has become an annual tradition for many local families and provides a fun evening free of charge with activities that appeal to attendees of all ages,” he said.

The event is on the KSU Campus Green with convenient and free on-campus event parking.

“The fireworks finale is always exciting and is accompanied by classic American marches performed by the KSU Summer Orchestra,” Daly said.

“The festival atmosphere and great outdoor setting in the heart of KSU’s campus combine with the event’s fun and exciting activities to make for a memorable experience each year,” Daly said.
