KENNESAW, Ga. (May 28, 2015)  Kennesaw State University’s 8th Annual Star-Spangled Concert and Fireworks Show will be held on Saturday, June 27, featuring a free, family-friendly concert on the Campus Green of the Kennesaw Campus starting at 8 p.m., followed by an exciting fireworks finale. The concert features beloved patriotic favorites, as well as contemporary and popular works for orchestra.

For the first time, the KSU Summer Orchestra and Singers will perform, bringing together students, alumni and faculty members of the School of Music as well as members of the Georgia Symphony Orchestra.

Professor of Music David Kehler, who will conduct this year's orchestra, said, “It's fantastic to listen to live patriotic music in a beautiful space and then watch the fireworks finale. I'm excited to conduct it this year, and ''m proud that it has become an event for the entire community to enjoy."

In addition to the concert at 8 p.m., concert-goers are encouraged to arrive early to enjoy pre-concert activities beginning at 5 p.m., including games, face painting and balloon artists for kids, food trucks, vendors and exhibits from the KSU community and beyond, and a patriotic singing contest. Guests are welcome to bring lawn chairs, blankets, picnics and coolers.

Beginning June 1, a limited number of reserved tables may be purchased for $100 each by visiting Free event parking is available on campus, with the Central Parking Deck accessible from Frey Road being the closest to the venue.

Since 2008, this event has been held at the Campus Green in the heart of Kennesaw State’s Kennesaw Campus Presented annually on the Saturday that precedes the Independence Day holiday, the Star-Spangled Spectacular has long been a summertime tradition at Kennesaw State to kick off the celebration of our nation’s independence. This year’s Star-Spangled sponsor is Henssler Financial.
