KENNESAW, Ga. (Nov. 14, 2014) — Kennesaw State University was ranked 13th among U.S. colleges and universities as a “Best Value Online College” by OnlineU.com, a web-based resource about online higher education affordability.
The ranking recognized Kennesaw State for its affordable and quality online degree programs. The University currently offers 42 online degree, endorsement, certificate and academic minor programs as part of its Distance Learning Center, in disciplines such as business, education and nursing.
More than 7,000 KSU students take online courses each semester, with many students earning their bachelor’s and master’s degrees without ever coming to campus. In 2014, the University launched its first Massive Open Online Course (MOOC) in education technology, serving more than 10,000 students. A second MOOC in information security will launch in 2015.
The Best Value Online College ranking was completed after extensive research by OnlineU.org on the cost of attending online colleges and analysis of the outcome-based statistics to find the best value. OnlineU.org shares information about the affordability and quality of higher education and making access to online college information transparent.
According to OnlineU.org, Kennesaw State offers strong support for its student body, including academic and career counseling, technical support, academic tutoring and an online writing center. In addition, OnlineU cited that all educators in Kennesaw State’s distance learning programs have been online teaching certified through the University.
