Georgia (Oct 19, 2012) — Kennesaw State senior guard Markeith Cummings (Birmingham, Ala./Beach HS) has been named to the 2012-13 Atlantic Sun Conference men’s basketball preseason all-conference team that was voted on by the league coaches.

A three-time A-Sun all-conference second team selection, Cummings enters his senior campaign ranked third all-time in school history in points scored (1,603), field goals made (564), and field goals attempted (1,240), while ranking second in points per game (17.0).

Cummings is coming off a solid junior season in which he ranked second in the A-Sun with 15.4 points a contest and averaged 5.3 rebounds, 2.1 assists and 1.1 steals a contest. He produced 25 double-digit scoring games and led the Owls in scoring 12 times.

Kennesaw State, which was picked ninth in the poll, makes its season debut on Thursday, Nov. 1, when it hosts Piedmont in an exhibition at the KSU Convocation Center beginning at 7 p.m. The Owls open their regular season on Friday, Nov. 9, when they travel to Knoxville, Tenn., to take on Tennessee at the Thompson-Boling Arena beginning at 7 p.m.
