KENNESAW‚ Ga. (June 20‚ 2007) — World−renowned photographer Nick Del Calzo will share his unique experiences gained while photographing and interviewing some of America’s iconic WWII Medal of Honor heroes during a presentation on June 26 at Kennesaw State University. The World War II Exhibit and the Clary Lecture Series at KSU are sponsoring the free event that is open to the public. It will be held in the KSU Center at 5:30 p.m.
Del Calzo’s New York Times bestseller‚ “Medal of Honor: Portraits of Valor Beyond the Call of Duty” captures his distinctive style of photography of more than 100 of America’s living Medal of Honor recipients. Some of Del Calzo’s photographs of those brave heroes hang in the halls of the Pentagon. The Medal of Honor award is the nation’s highest tribute‚ the only one that commands a salute from the president and the Joint Chiefs of Staff. Since its implementation in 1863‚ approximately 3‚440 military members and civilians have received the medal.
