KENNESAW‚ Ga. (Nov. 9‚ 2006) — Kennesaw State University’s request to offer an external Master of Business Administration degree at the Cobb Galleria Office Park was approved today by the Board of Regents of the University System of Georgia.
The new program will begin spring 2007. Kennesaw State anticipates immediate enrollments in excess of 100 students.
“For the last three years‚ the Coles College of Business has offered various MBA courses at the Galleria‚ and now we look forward to offering the full MBA degree program there‚” Coles College of Business Dean Tim Mescon said.
KSU plans to offer the degree in the Institute of Nuclear Power Operations building at the Galleria. KSU has been holding courses in the INPO building as a pilot project at the request of INPO and other corporations in the Galleria/Vinings area of Cobb County. Currently‚ KSU offers four to six courses per semester in the space made available through INPO.
“The concentration of working professionals in the Galleria/Vinings area is enormous‚” Mescon said. “In addition‚ a number of corporations are headquartered in the area‚ including Genuine Parts‚ GE Energy‚ Coca−Cola Enterprises‚ Home Depot‚ Russell Athletic and Post Properties. By offering this program‚ we are responding to the needs of these area employers by providing high−quality professional development that removes some of the obstacles for employees in negotiating metropolitan Atlanta traffic.”
