(Feb 22, 2006) — Playing in their first Division I season‚ the Owls faced No. 3−ranked Georgia Tech
in a three−game set at Russ Chandler Stadium Feb. 17−19.
Though they are less than 30 miles apart‚ this was only the third time that the teams have met. The previous two meetings came in the late 1980s when the Owls were in the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics program. Georgia Tech won the first meeting‚ 19−5‚ in 1987 and Kennesaw State took the second meeting‚ 12−2‚ in 1989.
The current series was one of the toughest matches for KSU since the baseball program entered Division I in 2005. Despite the Owls’ strong efforts‚ the Yellow Jackets remain undefeated (6−0).
