Kennesaw State University students started yet another era as they began renewing
their housing agreements and accepting applications online earlier this week for fall.
Along with the existing housing‚ now students can also reserve rooms for University
Village‚ the newest on−campus living learning community to be opened this August.
James A. Fleming‚ President of the KSU Foundation said‚ "We will keep forward momentum
with additional beds and also complete a future retail element…this project is unique‚
and we are very proud of it and pleased with our relationship with Place Properties."
University Village is a privatized project between the University‚ KSU Foundation‚
and Place Properties. Place Properties has also developed KSU Place and University
Place which were opened in 2002.
Cecil Phillips‚ President of Place Properties said‚ "Place is proud of our partnership
with the Foundation and the University. University Place will be another jewel on
the campus crown."
University Village will be a 748 bed community with two‚ three‚ and four bedroom apartments
which all have individual bathrooms and are fully furnished. Each kitchen will be
fully equipped with all major appliances‚ including washers and dryers.
University Village residents will enjoy garaged parking‚ along with accessibility
to a Village Centre which will include space for management‚ a computer lab‚ study
areas‚ an activity room‚ and future retail. University Village is available to freshmen
with less than 30 class hours and students who are under 21 years of age. University
Village will be an alcohol and tobacco free community.
