The Michael J. Coles College of Business at Kennesaw State University has been named the 2004 “University of the Year” winner by the Atlanta Chapter of the National Society of Hispanic MBAs (NSHMBA).

“We are pleased and proud‚” responded Coles College Dean Tim Mescon. “Most importantly‚ this is a testimony to a concerted inclusiveness strategy that has strengthened our faculty and student population.”

“The award is to honor the Coles College and KSU in their active outreach to Hispanic students‚” says Jose Perez‚ the Atlanta Chapter Education Officer. “KSU has earned a reputation as a progressive recruiter of Hispanics.”

The award will be given at the group’s 5th Annual Awards Gala “Securing Our Legacy Through Education” on Saturday‚ Nov. 13th at the Sheraton Downtown Atlanta. This fundraising event will recognize outstanding corporations‚ universities and individuals who have played key roles in fostering Latino leadership through education and/or professional development. The Coles College of Business has several MBA programs which meet a variety of students’ academic needs. All of them are accredited by the AACSB International −− The Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business.

Associates in the MBA for Experienced Professionals program study online in virtual teams‚ meeting once per month in the state−of−the−art Executive Education Center at KSU Center. The Career Growth MBA program offers flexible evening and weekend class schedules‚ some of which are offered at the Cobb Galleria Centre. The BellSouth/Cingular In−House MBA program caters specifically to employees of BellSouth and Cingular Wireless. Classes are taught onsite at the companies’ respective facilities.

In addition‚ the Coles College offers a Master of Accounting (MAcc) degree and online study through the Georgia WebMBA program.
