Owls football homecoming game, concert and bonfire top the weekend festivities

KENNESAW, Ga. (Sep 29, 2016) — Homecoming 2016 will be a nearly weeklong celebration for Kennesaw State University students and alumni, including a pep rally, bonfire, blockbuster concert and an Owls football homecoming game.

Festivities kick off early in the week, when volunteers will gather for Volunteerism and Service Learning Support’s Day of Service project, “Seeds of Hope” on Oct. 9 at 1 p.m. in the Student Center University Rooms on the Kennesaw Campus. Later in the week, Kennesaw State will host a panel discussion, “Founders Day Big Conversation: Civility and Civic Engagement,” on the Kennesaw Campus on Thursday at 12:30 p.m.

Among the many Homecoming 2016 festivities scheduled this year will be the Lip Sync and Bonfire on the Marietta Campus Thursday night. The Homecoming Parade begins on Friday at 4:30 p.m., and a half-hour later at the Campus Green on the Kennesaw Campus, a huge pep rally will round out the afternoon. In the evening, Kennesaw State volleyball will host USC Upstate at 6 p.m. in the Convocation Center on the Kennesaw Campus. Then, at 9 p.m., the KSU Live Concert, featuring Lupe Fiasco, will rock the crowd at Fifth Third Bank Stadium.

Homecoming 2016 pre-event activities will kick things off Saturday afternoon, before the Owls take on the Flames from Liberty University in KSU’s football homecoming game at 7 p.m. at Fifth Third Bank Stadium.
